William Dixon is a Vice President within Stroz Friedberg’s Security Science Practice. Mr. Dixon is responsible for developing innovative security strategies in order to further clients’ business objectives while addressing the evolving threat landscape. He has over 15 years of experience as a leader in security risk management, program governance, third party risk management, security operations, and cyber threat assessment. He has served leadership roles in technical implementations and management, consulting, and business development.
Prior to joining Stroz Friedberg, Mr. Dixon was a Senior Manager within the Accenture Global Security Practice. During his time, he was responsible for the development and management of key strategic markets and clients within the communications, media, and high tech industries, with a focus on infrastructure security, security operations, and security analytics. In addition, he was responsible for the leadership, execution, and delivery of key client security integration initiatives, specific to mergers and acquisitions, IT outsourcing, and application management and support.
Previously, Mr. Dixon served as a Security Services Leader at IBM Global Technology Services. While at IBM, his responsibilities included development of the IBM Security Services portfolio and bringing services directly to the market. Mr. Dixon was also responsible for leading and supporting Security Operations initiatives for clients, specifically for threat intelligence and detection. He was also responsible for security program and benchmarking initiatives to further the alignment of his clients’ information security programs to business objectives and risks tolerance.
In addition, he has served in consulting roles as a Senior Security Strategist and was also a co-founder of the security consulting firm, Continuum Security Solutions, where he was responsible for leading the security consulting practice.
Mr. Dixon has been a presenter on security strategy, risk assessment, and management at events for the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).
Mr. Dixon holds a BS in Management Information Systems from the University of Nebraska, Peter Kiewit Institute.
