Sophie Lamont is a Vice President in the Due Diligence practice in Stroz Friedberg’s London office and has extensive experience overseeing complex projects in sub-Saharan Africa. She manages due diligence, litigation support, and multi-jurisdictional investigations for financial services clients, corporates and law firms.
Before joining Stroz Friedberg, Ms. Lamont was a Director at an international investigations firm in London and was responsible for the firm’s work in sub-Saharan Africa. She has managed numerous pre-transactional and third party due diligence assignments in West and East Africa in respect of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the UK Bribery Act. She has worked on complex corporate investigations and litigation support matters in South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as civil and white collar crime inquiries in the US and Australia.
Prior to that, Ms. Lamont was in the corporate investigations team at a global risk management consultancy. In that role, Ms. Lamont worked on an extensive asset trace in Eastern Europe and the US in support of litigation. Her work also included a large litigation support matter in East Africa.
Ms. Lamont began her career as a solicitor at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP in London. She specialised in commercial litigation, including defamation, insurance and reinsurance disputes. During her time at Norton Rose Fulbright she was a member of the firm’s Africa Group and advised clients following the collapse of a copper mine in Zambia.
