As a Vice President of Digital Forensics in Stroz Friedberg’s Dallas office, Orie Hunter is responsible for conducting digital forensic acquisitions and analysis; performing comprehensive immediate response functions for network and data breach incidents; conducting electronic discovery and data production operations involving preservation, processing, and production of electronic data from a variety of digital sources; conducting technical security reviews; and providing expert testimony regarding the methods and accuracy of forensic findings.
Prior to joining Stroz Friedberg, Mr. Hunter was the Head of Forensics & Incident Response with BNP Paribas. In this capacity he was responsible for the design and implementation of electronic discovery processes and procedures for the North and South American divisions following EDRM best practices. He also authored incident response policies and procedures and managed all information security incidents for those regions. In addition, he performed computer forensic investigations using EnCase and other forensics tools such as Helix and FTK.
As a Senior Computer Forensics Examiner with the State of Louisiana Department of Justice, Mr. Hunter utilized computer forensic techniques to examine digital media on a wide range of criminal cases including the preparation of detailed forensic analysis reports for investigators and prosecutors. He conducted and completed over fifty case examinations and testified as a forensics expert in several court hearings including State of Louisiana v. John Mickelson. Mr. Hunter was responsible for the establishment of procedural guidelines for the intake and dissemination of evidence, as well as the development of lab protocol for maintaining case priorities and conducting examinations. Additionally, he presented community Internet safety classes on how to protect children from online predators, and he trained prosecutors and law enforcement representatives on proper guidelines for handling digital evidence.
Mr. Hunter has hands-on experience with the leading forensics and electronic discovery tools, including EnCase and ILook. He is an EnCase Certified Examiner, a Paraben Certified Cell Phone/PDA Examiner, and he holds GIAC Security Essentials Certification.
