Derek C. Lietz is a Vice President of Digital Forensics in Stroz Friedberg’s Boston office.  He previously managed the Intellectual Property (IP) Division of Elysium Digital, a revered technology litigation consulting firm that was acquired by Stroz Friedberg in 2015. Derek provides Expert Testimony on behalf of clients, and manages consultant teams on IP cases. He is responsible for ensuring that the IP Division produces high-quality work product, satisfies clients, and maintains a versatile and highly trained staff.

As an expert witness, Derek has been deposed on a web development case. His consulting work at Elysium has involved databases, mobile, detection of code theft, code development metrics, algorithms, and computer science related mathematics.

Prior to joining Elysium, Derek studied abstract and applied algebra, topology, graph theory, and the theory of computation. He also was the project manager for a geoprofiling project with the Los Angeles Police Department.
