NEW YORK, NY – October 7, 2014
Stroz Friedberg, a global investigations, intelligence and risk management company, has been named an honoree of a 2015 CSO50 Award from IDG’s CSO. This prestigious honor is bestowed upon a select group of organizations that have demonstrated that their security projects and initiatives have created outstanding business value and thought leadership for their companies or clients.
Stroz Friedberg received the award for a project for investment firm KKR & Co., L.P., which aimed to minimize the financial risk facing KKR’s investments caused by threats related to information security. The goal was to rapidly and meaningfully measure the security posture of the portfolio companies through an efficient, effective, standardized and repeatable process, and to use this information to advise the companies in how to strengthen their programs. The process and methodology Stroz Friedberg developed and implemented gave KKR a high-level overview of the security of virtually its entire portfolio of companies in a three month time period.
“We are honored by this award, and thankful to our client KKR for the opportunity to work with them on this project,” said Michael Patsalos-Fox, CEO of Stroz Friedberg. “This program our team developed is a breakthrough in the field of security risk management. The ability to measure information security quickly and meaningfully across industries and geographies will have implications for organizations such as insurance underwriters, other investment firms, and companies interested in evaluating the risks stemming from their third-party vendors.”
“For the third year in a row, outstanding organizations demonstrating innovation, creativity and understanding of business value in security were chosen from a large pool of submissions,” said Joan Goodchild, editor, CSO. “We congratulate this year’s CSO50 winners and applaud them for setting the bar high for security’s role in providing value and ROI in business.”
Stroz Friedberg will accept its award at the CSO50 Security Confab + Awards conference held on February 23-25, 2015 at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation, Amelia Island, Florida. The full list of award honorees was announced on October 2 by IDG.
