Shaw Stroz & Co., LLC In the course of providing services to clients, Stroz Friedberg applies expertise from the behavioral sciences to both investigations and research. While an agent with the FBI, Ed Stroz collaborated on research led by Clinical Psychologist, Eric Shaw, formerly with the Department of Psychiatry of New York Hospital and the CIA. Dr. Shaw adds behavioral science expertise in profiling and case management to our efforts. The Shaw Stroz patented software, which is exclusively available at Stroz Friedberg, is designed to assess the intentions, personality characteristics, psychological state, decision-making preferences, and risk of known and unknown subjects based on their electronic communications. This research and investigative collaboration continues at Stroz Friedberg, and has produced some remarkable insights and findings. The software, known as WarmTouch, produces psycholinguistic dashboards with quantified behavioral metrics without the need to view the author’s original content. The program has been used to aid investigators to identify the characteristics of unknown authors, including those making threats; determine whether communications are sent from the same or different individuals; understand the personality and decision-making preferences of individuals in order to predict or manage his/her behavior; characterize and impact of relationships between parties based on their communications; and devise negotiating, persuasive, and legal strategies likely to be successful with target individuals and groups. University of Chicago Stroz Friedberg, LLC is pleased to participate in the Jeffrey Metcalf Fellowship program in affiliation with the University of Chicago. This program offers talented undergraduate students a chance to explore careers in digital forensics through a ten-week long paid summer internship. The internship offers students the opportunity to participate in client assignments, conduct independent research, and work closely with the digital forensic examiners and engagement managers at Stroz Friedberg, LLC.
