Melanie Maugeri is a Digital Forensic Examiner in Stroz Friedberg’s San Francisco office. Ms. Maugeri has over six years of professional experience in the field of digital forensics, electronic discovery, and information technology. Throughout her career, she has executed hundreds of forensic data acquisitions and analyses on a broad range of digital media, in both conventional and covert settings, and has worked on challenging and complex cases involving incidents of data breach, intellectual property theft, fraud and misconduct, as well as sexual harassment and domestic violence. Ms. Maugeri is currently responsible for conducting forensic examinations in one of the firm’s many state of the art forensic laboratories. She is also instrumental in supporting large-scale electronic discovery engagements.
Prior to joining Stroz Friedberg, Ms. Maugeri honed her digital and investigations skills as a forensic examiner for an East Coast forensics firm. While there, she successfully managed multifaceted digital forensic projects for Fortune 500 companies and clients across all industries. She also worked closely with law enforcement agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigations on several investigations.
Ms. Maugeri has been trained by Guidance Software in the use of EnCase forensic tools and is certified as an evidence custodian by the International Association of Property and Evidence. She also holds an A+ Certification and has performed her studies in computer forensics and cyber crime at Champlain College in Burlington, VT.
